How To Build Muscle And Burn Fat Naturally

by admin on April 12, 2012

build muscle and burn fatHere’s an introduction to a great looking site I just came across.  Owner and writer, Mark McManus, is talking about bodybuilding generally, rather than abs training specifically, but don’t let that put you off because the basic principles he puts forward so forcefully are exactly in line with what we talk about in these pages.

Truth be told, probably few of us are interested in attaining the kind of physique the hard-core bodybuilders aim at, even if we had the time and dedication.  And I’m very reliably informed, by the way, that no women find it in the least attractive either!   But the point is that the methods that work for the hard core guys will also work for us lesser mortals.  So if you want to flatten and harden that stomach while simultaneously burning away your spare tire, you need to focus on high intensity muscle building exercise and forget the monotonous cardio stuff.

Mark has a great story to tell about how he found out through trial and error just what works and what doesn’t, so I recommend you check it out below.

“MuscleHack is a natural bodybuilding & fat loss website.

MuscleHack is the home of THT training – Targeted Hypertrophy Training. THT is the free workout program developed by MuscleHack owner and operator Mark McManus (more on the author a little later). THT is incredibly effective at packing on new slabs of muscle. It’s not uncommon for newcomers to swear that they’ll never train another way again after just a few short weeks!

What I promote and am passionate about is LEAN gains in muscle mass i.e. adding muscle WITHOUT adding fat, which IS possible.

On the other end of the spectrum I believe in shredding unwanted fat without having to sacrifice your hard-earned muscle. This is also very possible and has been done by thousands of my readers around the world.

Progress in the bodybuilding and fat loss game should be assured. This isn’t a guessing game. You SHOULD succeed. MuscleHack will give you the tools.

Here’s a short summary of the philosophy of “MuscleHacking”:

The best bodybuilding workouts for the natural trainee are short in duration but high in intensity

Cardio is not necessary when on a bulking phase of training

You CAN stay lean while “bulking”

You CAN keep your muscle while cutting

Both full-body workouts and 5-day splits work!

Both compound and isolation exercises are a requirement for optimal development

Basic high intensity training with a focus on progressive overload will always yield the best results

I honestly believe that one of the best things you can do right now for your success is to give up bodybuilding magazines for good! They do not have your best interests at heart and are solely concerned with selling you crap you don’t need. Much of the info contained in these publications will hinder, not accelerate, your success….

One of the greatest things about training with kettlebells is the unique variety and flexibility they offer, making them highly suitable for both beginners and serious and strength athletes.  But that being said, all properly designed kettlebell workouts will have been formulated with proper regard to some important guiding principles.  This is because the achievement of real strength and fitness, that’s to say the strength and fitness of the whole organism, requires much more than mere flexing of muscles against weight resistance.   So a good kettlebell workout will demand and develop strength, mobility and flexibility, but also clarity of mental purpose, accuracy of form and movement and control of the breath.  And this level of concentration will be found not to detract from the enjoyment of the workouts, but rather to enhance it; as consciousness dawns of the body’s rapidly increasing capabilities.

It’s traditionally been though that getting lean, that’s to say burning fat, was somehow a separate process from that of getting strong and building muscle.  In fact workouts were commonly divided into two sections reflecting this supposed dichotomy.  Heavy weight training aimed at increasing muscle mass and strength would be followed by a lighter session [...]
